One of the most common and annoying digestive problems seen today is belly bloat. At some point everyone will face this condition at least once. It is a typical problem seen in almost all people. It is not limited by race, sex, age, diet, or even lifestyle. Determining the cause of your belly bloat is crucial in taking appropriate action to rectify it. Typically, a small lifestyle change can resolve your issues of gas and bloating. While there are numerous causes for gas and bloating the following are the most common causes of belly bloat.

Acidity

An increased amount of stomach acidity is the most common cause of belly bloat. It is usually caused by consuming unhealthy foods and is often associated with gas. The easiest way to rectify this type of bloating is to eat healthier.

The most notorious foods for causing bloating are alcohol, processed foods, and carbonation. Alcohol may lead to bloating due to the grains used to make it or may just be a side effect of digestion. Processed foods, on the other hand, often contain irritating ingredients that inflame the intestines and cause a bloating feeling. While carbonation adds air bubbles to the digestive system that leads to the feeling of bloating and gas. IBS

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common cause of belly bloat. It is a digestive disease in which the intestines become irritated and inflamed. It is usually associated with a need to use the toilet and often is combined with constipation or diarrhea. IBS typically occurs after eating a meal. If you believe that you have IBS, consult with your doctor for proper care and treatment.

Lactose Intolerance

Lactose Intolerance is an intolerance or sensitivity to dairy products. The primary symptoms are bloating and gas. Bloating and gas will occur after consuming dairy products like milk, ice cream, or cream. Try eliminating all dairy products from your diet for two weeks. If this eliminates the symptoms then you should look into a lactose free diet.

Gluten Sensitivity

Gluten sensitivity is caused by eating products containing gluten. Gluten is a protein in wheat and grains. It is often associated with bloating, cramping, and sluggishness. If you believe you have a gluten sensitivity you should consult with your doctor to check for celiac disease or any other gluten related diseases that can be extremely dangerous.
